Introduction of Mandatory ETIAS Permit for Travels to Europe
Starting mid-2025, every Canadian traveler planning to visit Europe will be required to possess an ETIAS permit. This is the European Travel Information and Authorization System, implemented by the European Union.

Please note that this permit costs 7 euros per person, and the process can take up to 30 days for approval.
It is also mandatory to have a passport that remains valid for at least 3 months after your departure date from Europe. Without this, entry at the European border will be denied.

- Arrival in Geneva.
- After your arrival in Geneva, our French-speaking guide will be waiting for you at the airport.
- In the afternoon, you will take the train towards Montreux. The journey follows along Lake Geneva and crosses the terraced vineyards of Lavaux, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These vineyards, cultivated for over 800 years, offer spectacular landscapes with breathtaking views of the lake and the Alps.

- This morning, departure by private coach to Gruyère (about 1h30). This medieval village, perched on a hill, is famous for its historic castle and its legendary cheese.
- You will visit La Maison du Gruyère: An interactive tour where you will discover the secrets of making the Gruyère AOP. You will watch the cheese production and taste different maturations.
- Dinner will be served in a traditional restaurant where you will enjoy a Swiss cheese fondue in a rustic and warm setting.
- In the afternoon, return to Montreux for some free time. During your free time, you can, if you wish, visit the Castle of Chillon, take a stroll along the Riviera, or relax on a terrace facing the lake. These activities are not included in the program.

- This morning, you will board the Lucerne-Interlaken Express, a panoramic train that connects Interlaken to Lucerne in about two hours. This spectacular journey traverses iconic Swiss landscapes, skirting the turquoise waters of Lake Brienz and crossing the Brünig Pass (1,008 m altitude), an exceptional vantage point. The train is designed for comfort and viewing, with large panoramic windows allowing you to admire the mountains, waterfalls, and alpine forests.

- The day begins with an excursion to Mount Pilatus (2,128 m elevation), one of the most iconic peaks in central Switzerland. You will reach the summit via the world’s steepest cogwheel railway, which reaches a gradient of 48% on its journey from Alpnachstad. The 30-minute ride offers spectacular views of forests, alpine meadows, and the rocky formations of Pilatus.
- At the summit, you will enjoy a 360° panoramic view of the Swiss Alps, Lake Lucerne, and, on a clear day, as far as France and Germany. You will also have free time to explore the hiking trails or have a coffee on the panoramic terrace.

- Today, you will travel from the center of Switzerland to Ticino, the Italian-speaking region of the country. You will take a fast train using the Gotthard Base Tunnel, a 57 km engineering masterpiece, which is the longest railway tunnel in the world. This tunnel allows you to connect Lucerne to Lugano in just 1h40, offering a striking contrast between the alpine landscapes and the Mediterranean climate of Ticino.
