Itinerary:
Arrival at your destination and check-in at your hotel.
Start your journey with a city tour on a double-decker bus. This will give you a great overview of the destination upon your arrival.
If time allows, take a tour of Mardi Gras World: you will discover everything related to the history of Mardi Gras and its festival.
Start your day with a stop at Café du Monde! The best beignets are sold there. Be aware that the lines are often very long, but it’s worth it.
Explore the French Quarter: Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, Bourbon Street, and local restaurants. You will find the main streets such as Canal Street, Bourbon Street, and Royal Street. It’s a perfect place to have a nice meal or a drink in the evening.
In the afternoon, head to the National World War II Museum or the New Orleans Museum of Art.
In the evening, return to the French Quarter to see the lively Bourbon Street!
This day will be dedicated to the Bayou and Plantations of New Orleans.
The bayous are slow, meandering waterways that wind through the swamps and wetlands of Louisiana. They are characteristic of the region and are home to diverse flora and fauna. The plantations, on the other hand, are historic estates located along the Mississippi River, a short distance from New Orleans. These majestic properties bear witness to the history of agriculture and slavery in the southern United States. Some well-known plantations around New Orleans include Oak Alley Plantation, Laura Plantation, Houmas House Plantation, Whitney Plantation, and Nottoway Plantation.
Suggestion for your dinner: book a cruise on the Mississippi aboard a famous steamboat.
Free day to enjoy the Garden District, the neighborhood where you can find the most beautiful colonial houses in the city.
Make a stop to visit a cemetery. Very imposing in the center of the city, you will be able to discover a whole history behind these graves… here people are not buried but rather piled on top of each other.
End your day by shopping along Magazine Street!
