Amritsar, famous for its Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), is a spiritual center of Sikhism located in Punjab, India. The city attracts millions of pilgrims and tourists every year. Kashmir, often called “paradise on Earth,” is renowned for its picturesque landscapes, majestic mountains, and flowering gardens. Its rich culture and ancient traditions make it a fascinating destination, despite the region’s political tensions.

Departure towards Patnitop.
Patnitop, with all its beauty, is a mountain resort that is a charming plateau at 2024 m. The meadow is surrounded by dense forests and lush green pines. Trails lead to nooks where time seems to stop and tranquility prevails.

Then departure by road towards Pehalgam (2133 meters), also known as “The Shepherds’ Valley” or paradise for hikers or trekkers. Pahalgam is the most famous place in the Indian film industry. On the way, visit the ruins of Awantipura and the saffron fields. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth, offering a breathtaking view of the city of Pahalgam. You can simply enjoy the city of Pahalgam and go on treks to some of the most beautiful places on earth. You can hike to Lidderwat, Kolohoi Glacier, or Sonamarg. Pahalgam is also the entry point to the famous Amarnath Cave, a sacred site for Hindus.

In the afternoon, visit Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh. These gardens, created by the Mughal emperors in their “concept of paradise,” are now very popular places for picnics and excursions. Shalimar Bagh was built by Emperor Jehangir for his wife Nur Jehan. It is a beautiful garden with spectacular views of the gardens and shallow lakes, as well as terraces. The garden measures 539 m by 182 m and has four terraces, each rising above the other. A canal lined with polished stones and fed from Harwan runs through the middle of the garden. The fourth terrace, by far the best, was once reserved for royal ladies. On your way back, visit a local Craft Emporium to discover hand-knotted silk carpets, specialty shawls, and jewelry ornaments.

Then departure by road to Gulmarg (2652 meters), known as the “meadow of flowers”. Discovered by the romantic poet of Kashmir in the 16th century, he was inspired by its grassy slopes covered with wildflowers. Today, Gulmarg is not only a mountain resort of exceptional beauty – it is also the first ski resort in India during the winter. The Gondola cable car offers rides to the pastures of Kongdori and beyond, up to the summit of Apharwat at an elevation of 14000 feet, to admire the Himalayan peaks in summer and practice alpine skiing in winter.
