The jewel of Maghreb
This North African tourist destination simply exudes charm, whether through its astonishingly diverse landscape or its fabulous thousand-year-old culture. In the larger cities—from the more modern Casablanca to the traditional Rabat—a visit to the big kasbahs and the old medinas is an absolute must.
From Casablanca, you can then head south to the imperial city of Marrakesh, located at the gateway to the High Atlas Mountains. The city’s attractions alone are worth the trip: its 900-year-old Medina, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its fragrant gardens, its spice markets, its mosques and its endlessly winding souk, which begins at Jemaa el-Fna Square.
Morocco is also synonymous with a desert of perfect dunes, extraordinary oases and mountains where completely intact millennia-old villages sit at the top of the cliffs. The country also features many seaside towns along the Atlantic Ocean including Essaouira and Agadir, where art and history merge to create a calm and peaceful way of life. //
