First and last time at Club Med Tomamu
While my stay at Club Med Tomamu had its moments of warmth and effort from staff, the overall experience fell short of my expectations. If you're looking for a quick summary, feel free to skip to the last paragraph. Check-in Our check-in experience set a negative tone for the trip. We were assisted by a staff member accompanied by a local language speaker, which initially seemed promising. However, despite the explanations provided, we were left confused about basic but crucial information. For example, we weren’t informed about the number of restaurants, their operating hours, or which ski lifts were open—details that other 4-5 star hotels typically make clear. Also, our bag was missing when we arrived at the room. One major issue was the ski pass. We were not told we needed to pick it up at reception, and mistakenly assumed our room key also served as the pass. This misunderstanding resulted in nearly an hour of unnecessary travel back and forth. We later learned the staff member assisting us was new. While everyone has to start somewhere, it raised questions about training and supervision, as he seemed unprepared for such an important role. Staff Overall, the staff were friendly, with notable mentions to Vichy, who made a sincere effort to recover our negative experience—kudos to him. However, there were some inconsistencies. For instance, while the GM, Zack, appeared approachable and willing to help, his actions didn’t always align with his words. Staff occasionally overpromised, setting expectations that were not met, which led to disappointment. Ski Lessons The ski lessons were a mixed experience. Instructors like Rado and Gordy stood out for their professionalism and skill. However, as it was early in the snow season, conditions limited what could be achieved. The group lessons were also quite crowded, even during this quieter period, making me wonder how chaotic it might get during peak season. Food The food quality was decent but fell short of expectations given the cost. Over four nights, we only saw oysters once and fresh orange juice once. The variety, especially for a premium resort, was underwhelming compared to other establishments like Hilton Niseko. That said, the desserts were a highlight, offering a delightful mix of flavors and sweetness levels. A standout staff member was Jack, the bartender, whose service was sincere and attentive. Overall Despite some bright spots, my experience at Club Med Tomamu was disappointing, especially considering the premium price. The check-in mishap set a negative tone, and the food variety and overall management didn’t do enough to justify the cost. While some staff made genuine efforts, the overall experience left me regretting the investment. I would encourage others to weigh these factors carefully but also to try for themselves, as every trip is unique.

BEST FAMILY VACAY EVER!!! 🥰
Albert, captain of the snow trekking, was a wonderful guide for the snowy natural scenery & very caring towards everyone especially a guy with an artificial limb. Avril, our personal ski instructor, was most effective & friendly & cheerful. A breath of fresh air & a face whose sun always shines. She helped us learn how to ski from Beginners to Club1. Absolutely terrific personality to behold & breathtaking to look at. Also very personable & approachable. She was most patient with our special needs teen son. LOVE our family vacation. Would love to come back again if we can afford it!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Truly memorable experience!!
Friendly and helpful staff, especially the ski instructors. Special thanks to ski instructor Patrick who insisted we learn proper form. And Albert, our trekking guide, who is fun and knowledgeable. After dinner program was fun filled. Zack Lee and his team put in lots of effort in keeping guests entertained. Having access to an Onsen next to the property is definitely a huge factor for us selecting Tomamu Only down side, we all agreed, was that food quality could be better.

love the club med vibes and passionate staff. made us feel really welcomed. special appreciation to Albert who brought me on lovely snow trek trails. 10 stars to him!! the family took ski lessons and fell in love with it. all thanks to their ski coach - Patrick! housekeeping was top notch and the nightly shows were superb. so much energy. Food quality could be better but commendable nonetheless. the bed has a rather stiff padding that made the mattress rather hard. otherwise we LOVE LOVE our experience here and will be back again next year.

Best SKI holiday
Amazing holiday in Club Med Tomamu. Zack the CDV has shared warm welcome to us and the night show were so great espcially the Rock & Roll night. Tomamu is really the best place to SKI, thanks to my beautiful instructor April, I got CLUB1 level in two days.
