Erice and Marsala

La Dolce Vita is missing!
This ClubMed is hit and miss despite the ‘Exclusive Collection’ tag and beautiful location. Unfortunately, the overall vibe, energy and attitude of the resort was disappointing compared to other ClubMed resorts we have visited. If you’re an English speaker you are basically parked in the corner. These guys could learn a lot from the Asian and Oceania ClubMed Chief’s and GO’s who know a thing about delivering real hospitality and positive guest experiences. To add further insult my credit card was overcharged 150 euro and after 1 month has still not been refunded.

It should have been a 5 star exclusive experience but it turned into a 3 star disappointment. We have been avid club med platinum members for the last 25 years and I wish we had better news to share. The Chief Adrien needed a lesson in respect, empathy and leading his team to ensure expectations were delivered. Our guest service referant Lena never greeted us on day 1 and when we met her on the last day she pretended not to know us despite our written communications. The biggest issue was the rooms had black mold, dead bugs on the floor, and cracks in the paint on the ceilings to point out the condition of the village. We did receive a complimentary bottle of wine but only later was accused by Ivan the bar manager that we had taken it from the beach bar ahead of the sundown event. The list of things continues tied to mistakes with dinner reservations and coordinating with other staff members. My family of six was in shock by the level of service and problem solving throughout our week. We never received an apology but a defensive Chief not taking responsibility. We will never go to a village managed by Chief Adrien. It’s too bad because Cefalu should have been the best exclusive collection experience and it was not! It was the most beautiful village with scenic views!

While stay was ok and pretty positive, our experience with Léna & Alpha (from service desk) was quite disappointing. Despite having Platinum status, we were unable to secure a reservation at the restaurant for three days, which was quite frustrating. Additionally, after leaving the hotel, we realized we had forgotten (or possibly had items stolen) and reported this to the front desk. Unfortunately, our attempts to follow up were ignored, and we received no response from the service desk. This lack of communication and service was unexpected and disappointing.

Recent trip to Club Med Cefalu
The venue was great and most of the staff were friendly. The food was great . Despite the positives and having been to many other Club Meds this one feels flat and the front staff at reception definitely not on point. For an exclusive collection I was expecting better service and something to match its superior trident status. The tour guide Elizabeth and driver Tony were the highlight of the trip and created a memorable experience for us on our Taormina excursion.

Having enjoyed many Club Med holidays in the past I was looking forward to visiting Cefalu. This Club Med exceeded my expectations. The facilities were all excellent. My panoramic sea view villetta was in easy walking distance of most places and if not there were plenty of buggies to offer me a lift. The food was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the pasta, seafood, fish and abundant salad options. As a lady who doesn’t usually eat desserts I tasted every single one of them plus the ice creams….im dreaming of them still…. The G O’s and staff were exceptional. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The names are too numerous for mentioning individually but a special commendation to hard working Chef de Village, Adrien. I look forward to returning.
