The island of a thousand and one colours!
Why Curaçao?
Situated in the southern Caribbean, near the coast of Venezuela, Curaçao is an island that is barely 60 km long. The island of Curaçao is now an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, just like its sister islands Aruba and Bonaire. Its year-round climate is temperate at 28 degrees Celsius, which makes it a popular destination for tourists.
Curaçao combines urban and outdoor life like no other island. You will be charmed by its wild and exotic side and its friendly inhabitants. This colourful island is THE destination for water activities. It is surrounded by a large barrier reef of the West Indies, which makes it the delight of experienced divers. Its crystal blue waters and thirty white sand beaches lined with cactus leave no one indifferent. Arrive at the right time and you may have the beach all to yourself.
One of the main assets of this region is certainly its diving sites and caves, which are of great interest from a geological and historical point of view. You will have the chance to discover some of the most famous diving spots such as the Blue Cave, which is one of the 65 most famous dive sites in the world. Curaçao is the perfect blend of European and Caribbean history, culture and architecture. Don’t miss its capital, Willemstad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll through its historic districts dating back to 1634 and admire its pastel-coloured houses, typical of Dutch colonial architecture. Curaçao’s gastronomy reflects its cultural diversity. You will find both local specialities and international dishes.
