AUSTRIA—A BOUNDLESS SKI AREA
Innsbruck: Ski safari hub
Innsbruck, host to the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics, is surrounded by the Tyrol Alps. This Emperor City is the ideal home base for a ski safari vacation in Austria.
Thanks to the Olympia SkiWorld Pass, you can add a day of skiing in Kitzbühel and St. Anton, which will allow you to cover most of Tyrol. New for 2017: at the Stubai Glacier, a new ultra-modern gondola that can transport 3,000 skiers an hour from the valley to the glaciers. In St. Anton, the new Albonabahn gondola provides direct access to the summit above the village of Stuben.
I first discovered Austria on a ski safari vacation, and now I’m back for my 11th visit. Once you discover an Austrian ski safari for yourself, I promise you’ll be just as eager to go back again and again.
