Big White and its incredible snow ghosts
After visiting Big White on three separate occasions, I can easily say that I am still blown away by everything this amazing resort has to offer. If you’re looking for the ideal spot for a family ski vacation, look no further than Big White.
Located a mere 55 km from Kelowna, Big White enjoys average temperatures of a very pleasant –9ºC as well as superbly abundant snowfall ranging between 750 cm and 24 feet annually. This resort was designed to ensure that skiers of all levels find exactly what they need. I particularly recommend you try the Cliff Bowl for its incredibly impressive lines!
With its wide and well-groomed runs, intermediate or expert glades, snow parks, Snowcross track, immense bowls and wonderful family-friendly village, Big White is unquestionably a great option for your family’s ski holiday.
As an added bonus, Big White features a must-see attraction that has also become the resort’s signature: the extraordinary snow ghosts. These creatures, formed by snow-encased trees at the top of the mountain, can be seen just under the chairlift bearing their name—the Snow Ghost Express. We promise it’s an experience you won’t soon forget!
