Big Sky
The American West in all its glory
Despite being one of the biggest resorts in the U.S. and boasting some of the longest runs, Big Sky is still relatively unknown and scarcely frequented by our local ski enthusiasts. It’s a shame really, when you consider everything that Big Sky has to offer—not only is this place really big, it’s definitely less crowded and less commercial than many of its counterparts.
Located in Montana, close to Yellowstone National Park and just a few hours’ drive from Jackson Hole, the village of Big Sky sits at the foot of Lone Mountain. Big Sky Resort, and neighbouring Moonlight Basin, offer a wide variety of runs, massive bowls and have everything from steep and narrow trails to big, wide boulevards groomed to perfection.
That being said, Big Sky is much more than just a big resort with amazing facilities. It’s one of the most family-oriented options around. In fact, what struck me the most about Big Sky is how welcoming the staff is. Everyone is just so friendly and helpful, not to mention incredibly laid-back. Basically, everyone just does everything they can to make sure your vacation is unforgettable!
The perfect combination: If you have a few days to ski in this part of the U.S., why not consider combining Big Sky with Jackson Hole? You can spend a few days at each of the cities and plan to visit Yellowstone in between. Amazing skiing in the land of cowboys and bison. Come enjoy the American West in all its glory!
