Last, but not least, is the Killington resort, with its arsenal of 1,700 snow canons coming to the rescue of adrenaline junkies. This incredibly vast sixpeak resort, nicknamed “The Beast”, regularly opens its lifts earlier than anyone else in New England. It is also the resort (not counting Mont Saint-Sauveur) that most often has the longest season this side of North America. Another significant advantage of staying in Killington is the great choice of ski options available to you within a 30-minute radius, by car. In fact, there are two other pretty big mountains providing close to 600 metres of vertical drop—Pico and Okemo—that make it quite appealing to extend your stay in southern Vermont.
