An abundance of charm

Although it isn’t among the most reputable or most frequently visited resorts in the world, when it comes to powder, Fernie is definitely the place to be. In fact, this fabulous resort gets over 9 metres of glorious snow every year! A former mining town, surrounded by the Canadian Rockies and flanked by the Elk River, Fernie sets itself apart by its charming architecture and small-town feel. This outdoor paradise is the perfect place to forget the stress of daily life and just enjoy nature at its finest! After a gradual expansion (respectful of the environment), the resort now has a vertical drop of 3,550 feet, 2,500 acres of terrain, 10 lifts, 142 trails and 5 magnificent bowls. As an added bonus, Fernie has one of the longest runs in the Rockies! It’s the perfect mix to attract ski hounds… minus the crowds. //
