Club Med Kiroro Peak Travel Review This was our sixth ski season staying at Club Med, but compared to our previous experiences, the atmosphere at Club Med Kiroro Peak felt noticeably colder, and the staff seemed less engaged. Disappointing Restaurant Service One of the most disappointing aspects of our stay was the restaurant service. The restaurant manager Rakesh was the least professional one we have encountered at Club Med. We stayed for 16 days, and he only spoke to us twice—once to clear our table while my son was still eating, and another time when introducing a special dish prepared by the chef. Other than that, he constantly avoided eye contact and never greeted us, showing a complete lack of hospitality and professionalism. Room Cleaning and Amenities Were Inadequate During our 16-day stay, it seemed like the floor was never vacuumed, as dust and hair accumulated, requiring us to clean up ourselves. One night, as we were getting ready for bed, we noticed that the bedsheets had visible stains, raising concerns about the overall cleanliness. Additionally, the mini-bar was never restocked during our entire stay, which was disappointing compared to the usual Club Med standards. Poorly Managed Ski Lessons We joined the SB4 ski class, but after a few days, the instructor informed us that he could no longer take us into the trees because the resort’s insurance did not cover injuries sustained in wooded areas. This was different from our past Club Med experiences and was quite disappointing. Moreover, the class sizes were too large, with SB4 having nearly 10 students at one point, significantly reducing the effectiveness of the lessons. One day, we were advised to join an SB3 class instead, but since most students in SB3 had just moved up from SB2, the lesson would have been too basic for us. Due to the shortage of group lesson instructors, many were reassigned to private lessons, leaving group classes overcrowded and diminishing their quality. Unhelpful Response from the Resort Manager Before our trip, we were informed that we would receive certain membership benefits, but we did not get them upon arrival. When we raised this issue with the resort manager, her response was passive and unhelpful. It wasn’t until the last two nights of our stay that she offered to upgrade our room. However, the condition was that we had to pack our things and move that night, only to pack again the next day for checkout. Instead of being a benefit, this offer felt like an inconvenience. The Highlights of Our Trip Despite the disappointments, a few staff members stood out and provided the warm hospitality we expect from Club Med. Special thanks to ski instructors Ryan and Mike, bartender Gita, and yoga instructor Alice. Their professionalism and friendliness added positive moments to our stay. Conclusion Compared to other Club Med resorts, 2024/2025 Kiroro Peak fell short in atmosphere, staff engagement, room cleanliness, and ski lesson management. The lack of proactive management further diminished our experience. If these issues are addressed, this resort has the potential to be a great ski destination. However, as it stands, our stay did not meet the expectations we usually have for Club Med.

Written by: Betty L - Taipei, Taiwan - February 18, 2025Worst Club Med experience ever
I am a Club Med Platinum member, I have stayed in different Culb Med for more than 100 days, and this 2 weeks stay in Kiroro Peak is the worst experience! The GO who took us to our room didn't tell us how to use the heater or the phone, so we were cold for 2 days because we didn't know how to turn on the heater and we had to go to the front desk to ask them to take care of it. When we waited for 30 minutes and the shettle bus didn't arrive, Kiroro Peak front desk didn't do anything to help us. Finally, Kiroro Grand front desk came to take us to eat hotpot. As soon as we arrived at the Grand, we immediately felt at home, which is what we expected from a Club Med. We rarely saw CDV, and when we did meet her, she didn't greet us very often (only on the day her boss stayed at Kiroro, CDV said “Enjoy” to me), and almost all the other management GOs didn't have a smile on their faces, and didn't greet the guests. The food at Kiroro Peak has very few choices and tastes terrible, I had to rely on bread for a few meals. No one told us that we could refill the mini bar for free. Our housekeeping was even worse, we once found candies on the floor that were not ours after tidying up the room. We even had to ask them to change the linens at 11:30pm one day when we realized they were so dirty right before we went to bed. One day when we were attending the SB4 program, Miltos told us he was going to make a video for us, but in fact he was taking our instructors to make a promotional video. We waited at the top of the mountain in the wind for the light they wanted. And they didn't take us down the mountain at the end, we snowboared down the mountain by ourselves. This kind of behavior is unacceptable as it cheats the customers and takes up the class time. And when the instructor could no longer take us on a tree run, no one informed us. We went to Kiroro for the powder, why would we go to Kiroro if we couldn't tree run. The only thing we were happy about was that Mike and Ryan's SB4 course was great, and it was great to meet Kita from the bar again. Overall, Kiroro Peak only has a pretty exterior, the rest of it sucks. It's just a 3 star hotel, it's not Club Med at all.

Disappointing Return to Kiroro Peak - Not the Club Med Experience We Expected
This was our fifth Club Med winter experience and third time at Kiroro Peak, so we had high expectations. Unfortunately, this trip fell significantly short, leaving us extremely disappointed. I would not recommend Club Med Kiroro Peak for the remainder of the 2024/2025 season, particularly for anyone hoping to experience the renowned Japanese powder. Our biggest disappointment stemmed from the sudden cancellation of guided tree runs, a key reason we choose Club Med Kiroro. We were informed, halfway through our trip, that legal issues between Club Med and the mountain management had resulted in this cancellation. The Chef de Village, Tatiana, was unhelpful and dismissive when I expressed my frustration. Her proposed solutions were either to venture into the trees alone (highly dangerous) or hope an instructor was off-duty and willing to take us – neither of which were acceptable or realistic. Frankly, her communication throughout the trip was terrible; she seemed ill-prepared for the role and failed to create an engaging atmosphere. My concerns about the impact of this change on our experience were met with eye-rolls and a suggestion to “discuss it with the mountain center,” demonstrating a complete lack of care. Beyond the tree run issue, the overall service was shockingly poor. Bar staff refused to serve other staff members, meaning that if we wanted to socialize with the friendly GOs, we, as paying guests, had to order and serve all the drinks ourselves. This is simply unacceptable. The “Exclusive Collection” tag seemed to be used as an excuse for some staff to avoid interacting with guests, completely contradicting the inclusive spirit of Club Med. The ski/snowboard lessons were also disorganized. There was no assessment of skill level before classes, leading to constant disruptions. Many participants self-promoted to classes beyond their ability, forcing instructors to either drastically alter their lessons or demote these individuals, wasting valuable time for everyone. Finally, the food quality has declined noticeably. The Japanese food selection was surprisingly limited, which was a real letdown. Despite these numerous issues, I want to extend a sincere thank you to Ryan, Miltos and Mike, our snowboard instructors. They were fantastic, offering invaluable tips and significantly improving my riding. The instructors were a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience.
