Charm and romance

By Eve Bourdeau, Gendrongolf’s Sales Director

Although Puerto Vallarta has become a large modern city, its downtown sector retains its old-world charm and is still steeped in the ancestral traditions of its Mexican roots. Puerto Vallarta’s unique charm and romantic appeal has no doubt contributed to making it a popular tourist destination. With its famous boardwalk (the Malecon) and countless restaurants, bars and terraces, Puerto Vallarta leaves no one indifferent.

No matter which hotel you choose, you’ll be able to play the beautiful courses in the area including the Marina Vallarta Golf Club, the Vista Vallarta Golf Club (both courses) or the El Tigre Golf & Country Club.

A little farther North, in Punta Mita, about an hour’s drive from the airport, you’ll find the very popular Litibu Golf Course, which features on-site accommodations at the Iberostar Playa Mita. From the hotel’s reception area, you will be driven to the clubhouse by cart (5 minutes away). Everything at this hotel is simply amazing—from the spectacular gardens to the theme-based buffets and à la carte restaurants (including a steak house and a Japanese restaurant) to golfing that provides just the right level of challenge while being a touch forgiving. Water only comes into play on a Par 3 that features a peninsula green. The views are simply spectacular, especially at the 3rd, 4th and 18th holes, which were designed with the ocean as a backdrop. A few advantages worth mentioning: caddies are optional and golf bags can be stored free of charge.
