Professional calibre golf course in La Romana

By Carlo Blanchard, Golf Analyst for RDS and Golf Pro at Club de golf Le Portage

I am thrilled to be able to recommend the brand new course at PGA Ocean’s 4, formerly La Romana Golf Club, nestled within the most awe-inspiring natural setting and part of the Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville resort. I recently had the opportunity to visit this captivatingly beautiful site, and I can tell you that this course is truly exceptional—it boasts three oceanside holes, ample fairways and a design as prestigious as any you’ve seen. It’s also perfect for golfers of any calibre, thanks to numerous tees that allow players to adjust the level of challenge they need. The resort also features a Par 3 in superb condition.

Casa de Campo Truly unique!
The Casa de Campo resort, located in La Romana, has greatly contributed to the growth of the tourism industry in the Dominican Republic. It’s the perfect destination for those seeking lush and luxurious surroundings, and golfing of unparalleled quality. The resort includes the internationally renowned Teeth of the Dog, which features eight ocean holes adorned with jaw-dropping views of the Caribbean Sea. You are also sure to enjoy the resort’s latest addition, the Dye Fore—the aptly named Pete Dye masterpiece that clearly has nothing to envy of its big brother. This course provides awe-inspiring views and some intensely challenging golf. The ancestral village of Altos de Chavon and the fabulous marina include a variety of top-quality restaurants that are sure to make your evening memorable. Casa de Campo—truly unique!

It is important to note that the famous Teeth of the Dog will close in January 2025 for a year of major renovations. But you won’t be disappointed by the Dye Fore and The Links courses which are a treat for players of all levels. The Dye Fore is a 300-foot cliff-side course that drops down to the Chavon River and offers breathtaking 360 degrees views. The Links, meanwhile, is a course that slips through the resort’s beautiful grounds with spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and highlights the artistic genius of Pete Dye.
