” Paradiski

By Paul Dubrûle, Ski Sales Director

Voted Number 1 on the countdown of France’s top ski resorts for 2014–15 by L’Équipe sporting magazine, it is clear the winds of change are blowing over the gigantic ski area of Paradiski. The
La Plagne resort recently announced its 10-year revitalization plan aimed at revamping its fleet of ski lifts and rejuvenating its image. The ultimate goal is, of course, to attract more skiers to the resort. Operation revitalization is already in full swing, with the inauguration of an 8-person lift, Le Colosse, the fastest in France.

At La Plagne, a favourite among locals, gorgeous snow and spectacular descents are always on the menu. Its 99 lifts give you access to loads of terrain and backcountry skiing for those eager to tackle some steep, deep powder or rip up a few couloirs. There are also 6 snow parks where, you could even cross paths with Olympic medalists Kevin Rolland or Marie Martinod.

A stay at Paradiski would not be complete without hopping over to Les Arcs on the Vanosie Express cable car. This resort is most notably renowned for its long steeps
down from Aiguille Rouge (3,226 m), its exceptional backcountry and variety of intermediate runs—which represent 60% of the trail map. You can stay in one of the resort’s four villages—Arc 1600, 1800, 1950 or 2000—all of which prohibit the use of vehicles.

Considered one of the biggest skiable areas in Europe, Paradiski is a destination that is sure to exceed your expectations. So, what are waiting for? Now’s the time to discover— or rediscover—this iconic ski area for yourself.”
