Once a Danish possession and the largest of the U.S. Virgin Islands, St.Croix, has two main points of interest: the cities of Frederiksted and Christiansted, the capital and national historical site. It is where, in 1493 on Buck Island, Christopher Columbus landed.
Stroll through the streets of Christiansted and admire the beautiful boutiques selling French perfume, china, crystal, batik clothing and fine jewelry.
In Frederiksted, taking a walk in a lush tropical forest or visiting a completely restored 18th century plantation or simply relaxing on a beach are just some of the many activities offered to tourists.
